2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to the sale of socks to consumers through this website. A consumer is a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Team and bulk supply agreed through the team order form is negotiated separately and is not governed by the consumer provisions in sections 6 and 7.

3. Products

Every product page states terry loop height in millimetres, fabric weight in grams per square metre where it applies, shaft height in centimetres, cuff type, fit, fibre composition by legal fibre name, the footwear the product suits and the conditions it does not suit.

These are socks, not personal protective equipment. They provide no protection against workplace hazards. We make no protective claim about any product and reference no protective standard. We make no medical claim about any product.

Photographs show the products as accurately as we can render them. Knitted textiles vary slightly between production runs in shade and in handle; that variation is not a fault.

4. Prices, tax and promotions

• All prices are in USD and include Dutch BTW at 21% for consumer sales.
• Standard shipping is free on orders over $70 USD. Below that a flat standard shipping charge applies, shown before you confirm.
• Import duties and taxes outside the EU are not included in the price and are payable by the recipient on delivery.
• Where a reference price is shown struck through, it is the lowest price we applied to that product in the 30 days before the reduction. If a product has no such price history, no struck-through price is shown.
• We do not run countdown timers, artificial stock warnings or seasonal urgency campaigns.
• A discount code, where one is offered, applies once per order, cannot be combined with another code, and does not apply to shipping. Its validity period is stated wherever it is published.
• Obvious pricing errors do not bind us. If one occurs we will tell you before dispatch and you may cancel at no cost.

5. Ordering and payment

You place an order by completing the checkout form and confirming it. At that point your details are recorded. A contract is formed when we confirm the order to you by email.

The payment step follows order confirmation and the available payment methods are shown at that point. We do not store card details. Nothing is charged before you complete the payment step.

Your order confirmation email repeats these terms, our legal details, the withdrawal notice and the model withdrawal form in full, so that you have them on a durable medium.

6. Delivery

We deliver to the countries listed at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and start from dispatch. Risk passes to you when you, or a person you name other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the goods.

If we cannot deliver within 30 days of the contract and you have not agreed a longer period, you may cancel and we will refund everything you have paid.

We do not ship to countries subject to trade restrictions that would make the sale unlawful, and we may decline an order where export or sanctions rules require it. Full detail on Verzending en retour.

7. Right of withdrawal

You have 14 days from the day after delivery to withdraw without giving a reason. The full notice and the model withdrawal form are on Herroepingsrecht.

Exception for sealed goods. Goods sealed for reasons of health protection or hygiene cannot be returned once the seal has been opened after delivery. On this site that applies only to multipacks, which are delivered sealed and are marked as such on the product page, in the cart, at checkout and on the returns page. Single pairs are not delivered sealed and the right of withdrawal applies to them in full.

8. Conformity and guarantee

Your legal rights under Dutch law are not limited to a fixed number of years. How long a product must last depends on what you can reasonably expect from it. Any commercial guarantee we offer is in addition to those rights, never instead of them.

Socks worn for eight to twelve hours a day wear faster than socks worn occasionally. Thinning at the ball after months of daily shifts is wear. A seam failing in the first weeks is a fault. See Garantie en conformiteit.

9. Care

Follow the care instructions on the product page and on the sewn-in label. Damage caused by washing wool at a temperature above the one stated, or by tumble drying where the label says not to, is not a fault in the product.

10. Liability

We are liable for damage caused by our failure to perform this contract as required by Dutch law. We are not liable for consequences arising from using our products as though they were protective equipment; they are not, and we say so on every product page, at checkout and here.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Complaints and disputes

Send complaints to support@sockshousenl.baby with your order reference. We respond within five working days and aim to resolve matters directly.

Consumers in the Netherlands can get independent information from ACM ConsuWijzer. We are not currently affiliated to a Dutch disputes committee and therefore do not claim to be.

12. Personal data

We process personal data as described in the privacy statement, under the AVG and the Uitvoeringswet AVG. Complaints about our handling of personal data can be made to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

13. Age

This site is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly accept orders from them. Anyone aged 13 to 17 needs the consent of a parent or guardian to order.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the version that governs it, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Material changes affecting existing orders will be notified by email.

15. Applicable law

Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence are not affected.
